may 24-25

Konnichiwa!  Nice long flights from boston-newyork-tokyo-osaka and then a shuttle bus to kyoto.  Left at 8am on the 23rd, met up with my tribe at the Tokyo Narita International and we arrived to the hotel at about 9pm on the 24th.  We're 14hrs ahead of Austin time here, which makes it about...25 hours of travelage?!  We're told we get a tailwind on the way back which cuts off a few hours in the air.

The market around the corner is great for three reasons.  One - great ramen selection.  Two - everything seems to cost 105 yen, which is not great because its cheap, which it is, but it's  great because it doesn't make any sense, which, it doesn't.  The third reason is that the cashiers say ding when the scanner dings.  I thought it was just one eccentric guy at first, but three different cashiers have done it.  Ding!
